I am Andrew Ranicki from the University of Edinburgh. My home page http://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/~aar has a directory http://www.maths.ed.ac.uk/~aar/knots devoted to knot theory, particularly the early history. I am interested in both low and high-dimensional knot theory, and have written the book "High-dimensional knot theory" (Springer, 1998) http://www.amazon.com/High-Dimensional-Theory-Springer-Monographs-Mathematics/dp/3540633898/sr=8-1/qid=1167155039/ref=sr_1_1/002-4720190-1136813?ie=UTF8&s=books
