A change was made by an anonymous contributor from pool-70-18-185-117.pskn.east.verizon.net to one of the "quotes" at the bottom of the page, to read "God created the knots, all else in topology is the work of a-holes." instead of "God created the knots, all else in topology is the work of mortals.".

The change was unsigned and most likely was vandalism of some sort, so I rolled it back. But it was clearly aimed, and may well have been a form of protest by someone who found the "quote" offensive either for religious reasons or for topological reasons.

I don't think the quote is offensive to religion, but I definitely don't understand religion (all religions?) well enough to be sure. As for topology, that "quote" is my form of "protest" against "mainstream" topology which sometimes tends to look down at knot theory, even though it is the only part of topology accessible to every child, much like number theory is to the rest of mathematics.

Anyway, if anyone finds the "quote" offensive, (s)he should mention that here, signed (better) or not (still ok), and the "quote" will be removed.
